New Super Mario Bros. U Ultra Deluxe: A Nostalgic Adventure Returns

Are you ready to embark on another exciting adventure with everyone's favorite plumber, Mario? Nintendo has announced that New Super Mario Bros. U will be making its way back onto our screens in early 2024! This time it will come packed with more levels and features than ever before as "New Super Mario Bros. U Ultra Deluxe" exclusively for the Nintendo Switch console.

If you are familiar with previous installments of this classic franchise, then you know what to expect - challenging platformer action, charming graphics, and endless replayability. However, if you haven't played any of the previous versions, here's what you can look forward to:

In "New Super Mario Bros. U", players take control of Mario or one of his friends (such as Luigi) as they venture through a beautifully crafted Mushroom Kingdom filled with secrets, enemies, power-ups, and collectibles. The ultimate goal is to save Princess Peach from Bowser who has kidnapped her yet again. Fortunately, you won't have to do it alone; up to four people can join forces locally or online to tackle the challenge together.

One of the key aspects of the New Super Mario Bros. series is its focus on accessible gameplay while still offering plenty of challenge for veteran gamers. Players of all skill levels should find something to enjoy in this title, whether they prefer speedrunning through levels, discovering hidden paths, or simply exploring every nook and cranny of each stage.

What sets "Ultra Deluxe" apart from its predecessors is not just new content but also improvements based on player feedback. You can expect refined controls, updated visuals, and even some brand new playable characters to add variety to your experience. Some rumored inclusions are Daisy, Waluigi, Wario, and maybe even Rosalina or Donkey Kong Jr.!

In addition to being a remastered version of New Super Mario Bros. U, the Ultra Deluxe edition also includes the previously released standalone expansion, New Super Luigi U. This mode stars Mario's green hat-wearing brother as he navigates levels designed specifically for him. These stages offer additional challenges due to their shorter length and tighter time limits. Luigi may be harder to control compared to other modes, but mastering his unique abilities opens up new possibilities for those looking for an extra challenge. As a bonus, you don't need to beat the main campaign to unlock New Super Luigi U, so you can start playing right away!

As we get closer to the release date, Nintendo plans to reveal more details about the game's contents via streaming events, trailers, and interviews with developers. Be sure to keep an eye out for an upcomming Nintendo Direct this month
